Joaquín Martínez brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Bright Balance. Before joining our team as CFO Advisor, Joaquín’s career spanned 15+ years across both public and growth-stage companies, ranging in size from pre-revenue to $30B+. Although his career has mainly kept him in the Software/SaaS industries, he has also spent time at manufacturing and biotech companies. He has extensive experience with IPOs, capital-raising, mergers & acquisitions, process improvement, large software tool implementations, global operations, FP&A, strategic planning, accounting, strategy, and BOD and executive reporting and presentations. It is these experiences that have shaped him into the seasoned financial strategist he is today.

Outside of work, Joaquín is a true sports enthusiast, often caught up in the excitement of the latest game. He enjoys playing basketball, running and cycling and believes it is important to strike a healthy balance between financial excellence and personal well-being. When he’s not crunching numbers or exercising, Joaquín unwinds by catching up on the latest binge-worthy TV shows and spending time with friends and family.

Joaquín graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering and from the University of Texas at Austin with a  Master of Business Administration. Born and raised in the vibrant culture of Puerto Rico, Joaquín has a global perspective on finance and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives. He now calls Dallas home where he lives with his wife Erica, their two children, Sofía and Joaquín, and a feisty goldendoodle named Frida.
